The students understood the formation of a simple pendulum and learnt the following terms : 1. Length of pendulum 2. Mean and extreme position of bob 3. Oscillation of pendulum 4. Amplitude of pendulum 5. Time period 6. Frequency The students also discussed the modern trends of measuring time. In addition, with the help of movements in various orders, the students understood the types of motion: 1. Rectilinear motion 2. Circular motion 3. Rotational motion 4. Periodic and viberatory motion Math Integration: The learners were provided with a table representing the position of two cars at same interval of time. They then were able to interprate the motion of two cars and conclud that one car is faster and one slower. In addition, using the information given in the table, they were able to calculate the speed of the two cars and represented it in SI units. They also converted one unit of speed into other unit and practiced various numericals on speed-time-distance in class. Taking it forward, using the information given in same given table, they observed the nature of motion of the two cars and concluded about the uniform motion and non-uniform motion. They were able to draw the line graphs to represent various states of motion. The students also did revision for their half yearly examination and cleared their doubts. Chemistry: Chapter 9: Soil The topic 'Percolation rate' was discussed with the help of an activity in Chemistry Lab where the students passed water through different types of soil and brainstormed their minds to calculate the percolation rate of water and percentage of water absorbed by the soil. Further, the topic soil erosion was discussed with the help of an informative video. The knowledge and understanding of the students regarding soil pollution was assessed on the basis of a group discussion where they discussed their ideas on prevention of soil pollution by linking with SDG-1 [Zero hunger].
